Hand-knit beanie for Fall!

Hi Everyone!

I want to start this very first blog post by saying THANK YOU for all of your support! This all started with me knitting a hat for myself, and my family and friends wanting one too! It really made me feel good that you all liked my creations enough to actually purchase something that I made. So, I say again, thank you! Your support encouraged me to open up this online store, and continue making handmade products for purchase.

A little bit about me, I absolutely love all things cozy, and Fall is the introduction to cozy...hot drinks, warm blankets, and an animal snuggled by my side. That scene right there is perfection. Besides cozy season beginning, it is also one of the most beautiful times of year for the vineyards in the Willamette Valley. The vines begin changing color from lush green to bursting golden hues. It's a special time of year in Pacific Northwest wine country. With that in mind, I wanted to make something that spoke to me in the same way the transitioning vines do. That's when I found the "Harvest" wool blend yarn, and I knew it was the one! I couldn't take my eyes off of it, and I was so excited to start knitting. Some things just speak to the soul.

That night I began knitting the hat. I was pretty determined to complete it that evening because the yarn had me so excited. I was very pleased when I completed the hat because it was just how I pictured it to be! It doesn't always happen that way, so relishing in the success is absolutely necessary. The next day I wore the knit beanie to a work field trip, took a picture, posted it to social media (no intentions of selling), and people really took a liking to the knit beanie. That was pretty neat, and I was shocked by the outcome of my post. Like I said earlier, that encouraged me to make this website to sell some of my handmade products.

Thank you for reading my blog, and checking out what inspired this months product (first product ever sold under Upper Left Designs)! You can shop knit items here.

God Bless, and have a wonderful Fall season!
